King of Coins - #TarotImageTuesday

This week, it's the King of Coins, and I've selected the Fountain Tarot deck.
Gorgeously earthy, while still managing to capture the light that the deck is now famed for, the King of Coins has a 'solid' feel to him, an older portly gentleman sat cheerfully and comfortably on his chair. It's not an ornate or vast throne, but it's framed by a squared archway, emphasising the stability and strength that we'd associate with the Fours in the minors.
There's a coin above his head, and it seems that the light reflected from it illuminates his head, suggesting that his decisions will be made with a keen practical eye, and done from a positive, practical standpoint.
The feathery fronds of ferns or palm leaves reach up from the base of the image, reinforcing that connection with the green, earthy and grounded elements of the Coins/Pentacles suit, and the archway is similarly set in green shades, giving it a mossy or verdant feel..
Interestingly, the image appears truncated slightly at the top, and it took a while for me to see that perhaps he's underground - the top layer of that archway with plants on top further emphasised by not just placing him solidly in contact with the ground, but by placing him under it, safe in some kind of subterranean room or bunker.
The King here is more solid than some of his other Coins counterparts, who look hazy or like bottled sunlight, captured in the Fountain deck style...but the King has more of a sense of being 'present' rather than seen through rays of sunlight, or captured as if in a dreamlike haze.
