Three of Cups - #TarotImageTuesday
Good morning!! it's #TarotImageTuesday
This week, it's the Three of Cups, and I've selected the Intuitive Tarot.
I must admit to having quite a soft spot for the Intuitive Tarot - it's a deck that's very much 'felt' rather than one that can be actively studied, but there are certain cards that do lend themselves to greater introspection than others.
The Three of Cups in this deck takes on a swirling, winding expression of joy - the three central and distinct colours dancing, weaving and braiding their energies together, before forming into figures, their arms continuing to wind around one another as they raise their cups towards the heavens, giving a sense of overlapping, merging and exultation.
The patterning around the figures is also interesting, with what looks like fire at the base of the image, dancing and flickering around them, resolving itself into almost plant-like shapes as it winds upwards, framing the figures in their dance.
There is a dark blue behind the figures, framing them and setting them in relief against the unknown beyond, but the figures dance and swirl heedless of it, as they are safe and secure in their celebration and embrace...while the clouds and sky in the distant background shows that beyond the figures, the world carries on as normal.
The whole image has (to my inexperienced eye) a distinctly yonic appearance, the shape of the figures, the darker background and the swirls and curls at the edges contributing to this feeling, and i think it's fitting with the Three of Cups being associated as a card of celebration, sometimes associated with pregnancy, that it would reflect in this way.
What do you see in the image? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, and we can share the similarities and differences between the images in the various decks!
