The Six of Swords - #TarotImageTuesday

This week, it's the Six of Swords, and I've selected the Fantastical Creatures Tarot deck.
This unusual Six swaps out the journey over water for a transformation by fire - the Phoenix sweeping upwards carrying it safely over the swords that reach out where it was perched moments before.
The flowers beneath the swords are a reminder of the journey over the emotional aspects - a stand-in for the RWS journey over water - but beneath those roses are watchful eyes forming out of the twisted thorns of the roses. Perhaps those swords were less threatening, and more helpful, in encouraging the Phoenix to rake flight to safety from what lies just below the surface beneath.
The curling energy behind the Phoenix has a dark echo, suggesting that there is much that's better left behind, now that it is in flight - its journey will take it through growth and rebirth, leaving behind those dark aspects of itself.
