Knave of Swords - #TarotImageTuesday
Good morning!! it's #TarotImageTuesday This week, it's the Knave of Swords, and I've selected the Lo Scarabeo Tarot.
In this version of the Page, we see a young lady naked, except for her cloud-covered cloak.
Her hat has blown off, leaving her head uncovered, suggesting an open mind or being open to new ideas and thoughts, and her hair flows free, suggesting a certain wildness or carefree approach. She has hefted her sword onto her left shoulder - she's perfectly capable of expressing her opinion at a moments notice, of asking questions that others might find 'to the point', but it's held in quite a tentative way, as if those thoughts and opinions are not fully formed yet.
Her bared breast, and general nakedness, is a reminder of the honesty and openness that we're likely to see with the presence of the Knave, and that 'what you see is what you get' with this individual - there's little in the way of pretense or deception here.
Even though her bare feet are on the earth, and we see a strong tree and rocks in the background, her attention is purely focused on the sky and clouds - her thoughts lifted beyond the physical to the ethereal, theoretical or philosophical, and the clarity of the sky reminds us that her thoughts are not yet darkened with more troubled concerns or distractions, allowing her a clarity and purity in her purpose.
What do you see in the image? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, and we can share the similarities and differences between the images in the various decks!
