Good morning!! It's #TarotImageTuesday
This week, it's the King of Rods, and I've selected the Shadowscapes tarot, by the lovely and talented artist Stephanie Pui-Mun Law.
The swirls of energy, rushing wing-like from the Kings back, fill the image with concentric circles of golden light - they form into fierce felines, symbols of strength and vitality, with the stone version sat in repose at his feet. From the crown of antlers on his head, and the rose-like circle of energy, to the lion staff, all these aspects signal authority, blended with established growth, symbolised by the gnarled trees, and how they've grown through and around the stone, combine to form a frame with the young, vital king at the centre.

I like that this card portrays a younger king - that he's mastered his motivation, his enthusiasm, and doing so has restored his youth and vigour. The vine tattoo I feel is a nice touch, reminding us that growth never stops and is sometimes voracious in its appetite, and it's this King that we are likely to see continuing to grow through his authority to embrace new opportunity, with his abundant energy and enthusiasm.
What do you see in the image? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, and we can share the similarities and differences between the images in the various decks!
